CLOUSER TOPS LAKE OZARK

Eldon, MO (May 26, 2018) - Just two weeks after picking up his first career win at Brownstown, IL with the WAR Wildcard Sprints, Mario Clouser picked up his first career POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprints win at Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday.

Todd McVay would lead the first three laps as Clouser and Riley Kreisel battled each other for the second spot. Clouser would work his way past McVay on lap four and steadily built a comfortable lead over Kreisel, who had also moved past McVay.

On lap fourteen, the yellow would come out for Ryan Kent, who stopped in turn one.

With new life, Kreisel was on the attack as he slid next to Clouser a couple of different times in the turns, but was unable to make the pass. With Clouser out front and Kreisel within striking distance, disaster would strike for Kreisel as his right rear wheel broke off sending the Smith Motorsports #90 upside down in turn two ending his evening.

Clouser would go unchallenged over the last eight laps in his Yokohama Tires/Clouser Auto Repair Maxim with Claxton power, but the battle behind him was intense between Korey Weyant and Wyatt Burks as the pair traded slide jobs over the last few laps with Weyant making the pass of Burks for second on the last lap in his Tosti’s Transmission/ Mahan Fiberglass Eagle with Automotive Machine power. Burks was a strong third in the RCB Motorsports/ Clem Signs Maxim with Salina power. Quinton Benson made a late charge to move up fo fourth as he was followed by McVay. Chris Parkinson was sixth as he was followed by Mitch Wissmiller in seventh with TJ Artz, Brad Wyatt, and Indy Race Parts Hard Charger Anthony Nicholson rounding out the top ten.

The POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprints will next be in action at the Double X Speedway in California, MO on Sunday May 27 as part of the Tribute to Jesse Hockett. It will be the group’s first race there since 2013.
